An Angry Conversation With a Liberal

Some days the blogs just write themselves.

A couple weeks ago, my Sarcastic Liberal Former Classmate (the guy who hates Glenn Beck so very much) featured in previous episodes posted this link up to a "note" written on his friend's Facebook account. This friend of his, who we shall henceforth call Midwest UberLiberal, worked on the Congressional campaign for some unknown Dem in Iowa, and reposted on his Facebook page something that went like wildfire around the web at election time. I was actually giving this clown credit for writing it till I found dozens of links to various pages out there that had iterations of it out there. It was addressed to the Tea Party.

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.

You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate Energy policy and push us to invade Iraq .

You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.

You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.

You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us. You didn't get mad when we spent over 800 billion (and counting) on said illegal war.

You didn't get mad when Bush borrowed more money from foreign sources than the previous 42 Presidents combined.

You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars in cash just disappeared in Iraq .

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

You didn't get mad when Bush embraced trade and outsourcing policies that shipped 6 million American jobs out of the country.

You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.

You didn't get mad when Bush rang up 10 trillion dollars in combined budget and current account deficits.

You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans drown.

You didn't get mad when we gave people who had more money than they could spend, the filthy rich, over a trillion dollars in taxbreaks. You didn't get mad with the worst 8 years of job creations in several decades.

You didn't get mad when over 200,000 US Citizens lost their lives because they had no health insurance.

You didn't get mad when lack of oversight and regulations from the Bush Administration caused US Citizens to lose 12 trillion dollars in investments, retirement, and home values.

No.....You finally got mad

When a black man was elected President and decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.

Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, job losses by the millions, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, and the worst economic disaster since 1929 are all okay with you, but helping fellow Americans who are sick...Oh, Hell No!!

------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, where do I even begin to refute this pile of puke?

How about we start with the very fact that the Tea Party Movement itself didn't even come about until after your beloved Obamessiah was Immaculated as Most Lord Holy of Liberalism? The Tea Party came about as a direct result of Obama (Blessed Be His Name). The fact that pretty much everything you whined & cried about happened BEFORE there was even a Tea Party in existance makes your points moot and laughable. But hey, I'll play your silly games. Lay on, MacDufff, and damn'd be him that first cries "Hold, enough!".

Hmmm....stopping the recount & appointing a President? Oh, you mean that stuff where the Electoral College cast its votes under its mandate from the United States Constitution and Bush won the election?

See, they figured that the average Joe farmer in 1778 might not exactly be smart enough to not vote for, say, his own cow. And they had a backup plan to keep that from happening. Rather than directly voting for the President, our citizens cast votes for electors. Electors are technically free to vote for anyone eligible to be President, but in practice pledge to vote for specific candidates, and voters cast ballots for favored candidates by voting for correspondingly pledged electors.

Most states allow voters to choose between statewide slates of electors pledged to vote for the presidential tickets of various parties; the ticket that receives the most votes statewide 'wins' all of the votes cast by electors from that state. U.S. presidential campaigns concentrate on winning the popular vote in a combination of states that choose a majority of the electors, rather than campaigning to win the most votes nationally. The Electoral College cast its votes for Bush, and your side lost. Tough noogies. Quit crying. Write your Congresscreature and have them try to amend the Constitution.

We didn't get mad when Cheney seemingly manipulated the energy system? Nah, I only wrote about it in November 2006 and angrily derided Big Oil a month later. I did get mad when the CIA agent was outed; I just didn't write about it.

You're right; I didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed. I got very worried. Happened before I started blogging so I have nothing to pint you towards. However, I will gladly point you towards the fact that Obama extended the Patriot Act this year. Signed it back in February, don'tcha know...

You asked why we didn't get mad when we spent 800 billion dollars on an illegal war, but double that and you'll have Obama's debt through Obama Care. Mad yet? You cry about illegally invading Iraq but applaud illegal aliens who invade us every day of the year and twice on Sundays? Get off your high horse; I can't reach you up there to slap that smug look off your face.

Bush borrowed more money from foreign sources that the previous 42 combined, huh? And Obama just prints money out of thin air with nothing to back it. And you know who controlled the Congress and (say it with me now) spending for 2/3 of the Bush Presidency? DEMOCRATS.

We didn't get mad when ten billion in cash disappeared in Iraq? The way Obama spends that's chump change, princess. He spends that much on Air Force One date nights to get Wagyu Pizza. A couple billion on a junket to India. Billions to renovate mosques overseas and to give condoms to people in poor countries who screw like rabbits or to pay for abortions for those in other countries. We're a bit more angry at TRILLIONS that are disappearing in WASHINGTON.

We didn't get mad when we found out we were torturing people? Dude, I hope to hell that you never have a kid get kidnapped or held hostage or that some terrorist has a nuke planted under your house, but if that ever happens and the guy with the info that will get your kid back or stop that detonation will only talk if you drizzle water on his face, remember your stance on torture. Is it a harsh interrogation technique? Yes. Is it torture? Nope. And yeah, I wrote about that too, way back in November of 2007.

You said Bush sent 6 million jobs out of the country. You Libs claim to have created or saved or invented 66 billion jobs from thin air. Make sure you let the Bush tax cuts die off so MORE jobs will be lost or sent overseas when it becomes too expensive to do business here.

Illegally wiretapping Americans....again, Obama extended the Patriot Act. You Libs are happy with shutting down the Internet when you deem any old contrived emergency too. How about Draconian searches at airports? Radiating unsuspecting vehicles & homes with back-scatter radars in unmarked spy trucks? Establishing new "Fusion Centers" to coordinate surveillance against Americans to ostensibly counter terror attacks but in reality cover any and all things the administration deems necessary. Your beloved American Snivel Liberties Union is even worried about them.

I didn't get mad when we didn't find Bin Laden? I guess you missed my article in May of 2007 that talked about it and how the Liberal Media helps Bin Laden and the Taliban and Al Qaeda by broadcasting every surge and every troop movement and every timetable for our troops.....

Don't get me started on Walter Reed, pal. I was on top of that while you were still sipping your double skinny caramel macchiatto at Starbucks while doing the NY Times crossword.

Isn't it really about time to lay off that whole trite and tired Bush Hates Black People Katrina bullshit? I mean, how long did it take for Obama to finally visit the Gulf after the oil spill? And really, let's take a longer look at Katrina, shall we? FEMA, who I did criticize afterwards for their bad handling of the relief trailers, is a MANAGEMENT agency. Y'know, the best way to explain t
his is to directly quote author John Ringo from his most excellent book The Last Centurion:

There were not tens of thousands of dead. There were no riots or rapes in the Superdome and people were neither starving nor "out of water." They were being rationed, which the fuckers that were complaining thought was starving, but that's not the same thing. But let's look at the Evacuation Plan.

Okay, Nagin was a total fuck-up and never even tried to initiate it. He'd never looked at it, despite a fucking hurricane being headed for his city which, by the way, was below sea level. So calling him a fuck-up is insulting fuck-ups. But there was a Plan.

The Plan was to use school and city buses to evacuate all those who were "transportation challenged." Whether Nagin used it or not was sort of a moot point, though. People had forgotten little details. Such as, there was no emergency call list for the drivers.

In any group that does emergency response, from the military to cops and even including child services, there is a call list. Generally it's a call tree. Person at the top gets a call. He or she calls three people, then starts getting ready to head in. Those people call two or three people lower than them and start getting ready. Assuming more or less equal transportation distances, the bosses get to work first, which helps in most cases.

There was no such phone tree for bus drivers. So there was no real way for anyone to get ahold of them in an emergency. Oops.

Drivers had never been told that they were supposed to drive people out in an emergency. So they weren't exactly sitting by the phone if there had been a phone tree. They had jobs and cars. They were packing to leave or already gone.

And that was the last point. The order to get out was sent out before any thought was given at all to the "transportation challenged" plan and even the evacuation order was more of a bow to reality; the roads out of New Orleans were packed (by among other things the bus drivers) when it was given….

Look, in a local major disaster like that, FEMA wasn't even supposed to be up and running for seventy-two hours. Three days. That was after they were requested by local authorities. But on day two, hell with the skies barely clearing, people were asking "Where is FEMA?"

FEMA doesn't actually have all that many full-time employees. Disasters, by their very definition, don't occur all the fucking time. So most of its response specialists are contractors who do other things, or are retired and hang out, waiting for the next response.

They had to be called in. People had to go in and find areas to set up. It take stime. Even then, they don't do most of the work. They coordinate the work. More contractors, and military, and local government do the actual work. Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Asking "where is FEMA" in a disaster is like asking "Why aren't the managers here?"

The managers are important, don't get me wrong. But they don't get the bodies cleared.

Well, that pretty much sums that one up, without even mentioning the Democrat Congressman "rescued" by the National Guard who went to his house to fetch almost 100 grand in cash from his freezer... How many vacations did Obama take before he deigned to set foot in Louisiana and the Redneck Riviera? The administration killed deepwater drilling and let the rigs float off the drill oil for other countries while China and other countries drilled off of Cuba and Mexico kept on drilling in their waters. The administration sat on its hands and refused to allow booms to be brought in just in case a new spill just magically happened elsewhere, and over-regulated the skimmer ships that volunteered to help. I mean, they wanted to refuse the A-Whale ship until they checked to see how much oil was still in the skimmed discharge water...excuse me, but water with a little oil in it is preferable to water with LOTS of oil in it. We won't let you remove 98% because there might be 2% in what goes back and we'd rather keep 100% in the water for now. Obama stayed barely 27 hours before jetting off to Mecca's Vineyard.

And then you say we finally got mad because Obama's BLACK? Or that sick people need healthcare? Dude, are you on CRACK?

There are so many better reasons to dislike Obama than race. Besides, you liberals like to forget he's half white. Jim Clyburn plays that Race Card every chance he gets. It's frankly gotten quite old. We're angry at the fact that instead of overhauling the BILLING PROCESS and curbing the COSTS of healthcare, which here in America is VASTLY superior to the crap doled out in socialist countries, he instead wants to NATIONALIZE it and further bankrupt the country as a whole and destroy the insurance industry in favor of bigger government.

Cigna Corporation, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, several Blue Cross Blue Shield plans and others aren't renewing hundreds of Medicare Advantage plans, which are Medicare policies administered by private insurers. The moves will displace some 700,000 beneficiaries who must find new policies, according to Humana Inc., a large seller of these Advantage plans. So that's 700 THOUSAND elderly Americans displaced from healthcare thanks to your Obamessiah. Should I be mad yet? For 2011, the Kaiser Family Foundation said there will be a 13% decline in the number of Medicare Advantage plans. Now is it okay to be mad?

Or how about the Obama Administration printing more money pell-mell with nothing to back it up and destabilizing and devaluing the dollar? How about nationalizing student loans and mortgages and car companies and burning holes in your precious ozone layer flying everywhere on trips and vacations while Boogeyman In Chief George Soros and his shadowy minions make Dick Cheney look like a warm fuzzy kitten?

You want mad? I've got your mad, right here.

Now get the hell out of my way so we can try and fix what you morons have damn near destroyed.
