However, just as I knew it would, the funeral was turned into a circus of near epic proportions. One simply cannot have a high-profile funeral in the black community without mandatory attendance by Jesse and Al, the Race Bait Media Whore Twins. Those two have managed to insert themselves into the mix in Ferguson because you can't let a good crisis go to waste and you have to be wherever the TV cameras will be. One must have priorities, after all.
And scattered in and amongst the 4500 or so attendees were celebrities who didn't know the deceased but felt the need to attend, luminaries like Snoop Dogg/Snoop Lion/Snoop Whatever My Name Is This Week, Sean "Puff/Puffy/Puff Daddy/P-Diddy/Diddy/Whatever My Name Is This Week" Combs, the children of Martin Luther King, the parents of Trayvon Martin ( I guess to lend support to another family whose toddler was murdered in his bassinet by an evil racist white devil), relatives of Sean Bell (who was killed by the police in New York in 2006), TV personality Nick Cannon, noted race baiting former film director and NBA game attendee Spike Lee, miscellaneous Congresscreatures, and at least three representatives from the White House. Assistant to the President and White House Cabinet Secretary Broderick Johnson, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement Marlon Marshall and Heather Foster, an advisor to the public engagement office all attended. Of the three, at least Marshall had a connection to the deceased, having gone to school with Brown's mother.
Were these celebrities invited, or did they just invite themselves? If they were invited, who invites random celebrities to their child's funeral? And if not invited, what was their motivation? If it was to support the family I can applaud the altruistic intent but their presence is a distraction away from the solemnity of a family affair. If not, I shudder to think they attended just to get some TV time and press coverage. One must have priorities, after all.
The attorney who represented Trayvon's family, Benjamin Crump, is now of course representing the Brown family. What a shocker. So, the family's celebrity lawyer, a man who never met the deceased, speaks over his casket at his funeral as a means to introduce Al Sharpton as the next speaker, like a cheap carnival barker announcing the next act in the center ring. And what did he say? He took it in a racial direction and brought up the Dred Scott case, because one must have priorities.
It was 162 years ago, about 10 miles, Pastor Jones, from this great building where we say our final respects to young Michael Brown Jr. Maxine Waters, they say that it's still referred to as the old courthouse where the Missouri Supreme Court issued the Dred Scott decision, Reverend Jackson. And the substance, Reverend Al, of that decision was that a person of African descent could not, nor were they ever to be considered a citizen pursuant to the United States Constitution. Now, one could logically conclude, Bishop Jakes, that this follows the precedents set by the 1787 three-fifths amendment that said an African American was to be considered three-fifths of a man. But we declare here today, as we pay our final respects to Michael Brown Jr., that he was not three-fifths of a citizen. He was an American citizen. And we will not accept three-fifths justice. We will demand equal justice for Michael Brown Jr.! So with that legal reference, I bring to you one of the most influential civil rights leaders of our history, Reverend Al Sharpton.Oh, please. The Dred Scott Decision wasn't exactly a shining moment in American politics but it wasn't what it gets made out to be. The southern slave states were counting their slaves, who had no rights and could not vote, as part of the population in the census to gain seats in Congress, since seats in the House are done by population. By counting the slaves on a three-fifths basis it cut the population of the southern states by 40% so that the North could keep the South from gaining too much power in Congress as they worked to abolish slavery by political and legislative means. It was a crappy compromise but it was meant to be a stop-gap until a better plan could be formulated.
And bringing up a legal reference before introducing Sharpton? You'd have been more honest had you brought up Tawana Brawley and a perpetrated hoax surrounding a false rape accusation. Sharpton said among his remarks that "We are not the haters, we’re the healers!". I just gotta ask, Al, how many bundles of hair weaves or cases of beer does one have to steal in order to heal? Were people throwing rocks and Molotovs and burning down stores and shooting at people out of love and not hate? You complained, "How do you think we look when the world can see you can’t come up with a police report, but you can find a video? How do you think we look when young people march nonviolently asking for the land of the free and the home of the brave to hear their cry, and you put snipers on the roof and pointed guns on them? How do we look?"... Would that be the video of Brown robbing the store, followed by eyewitness accounts of him attacking the cop that shot him, a cop who ended up in the hospital himself to make sure his face wasn't broken? Guns were pointed after the cops were pelted by rocks, after stores were robbed and burned, after chaos ensued, after bottles of flaming gasoline started to explode. Your protesters wanted Land of the Free Stuff. Stop being disingenious.
While the main circus was inside, outside the funeral at the sideshow people were selling t-shirts that proudly proclaimed I SURVIVED THE FERGUSON RIOTS OF 2014.
How utterly classless and tacky. The reason for the riots ostensibly was a dead man and you're making a fast buck off that death and the aftermath of that death with a quickly printed shirt advertising that you survived. Well, I guess one must have priorities.
Meanwhile, police in Salt Lake City are continuing their probe into an August 11 shooting outside a 7-Eleven convenience store, when a black police officer, whom local media are referring to as “not white,” shot and killed a white man who was unarmed at the time, according to his supporters.
The young man was 20-year-old Salt Lake City resident and father-to-be Dillon Taylor. Taylor was leaving the 2102 South State Street 7-Eleven on August 11 with his brother, Jerrail Taylor, and cousin, Adam Thayne, when the incident occurred.According to police Sergeant. Darin Sweeten, police were called to the scene just after 7 pm. after receiving a 911 call of a man waving a gun in the air. When police arrived they spotted the suspect leaving the gas station with two other individuals.
According to Sweeten, the officers demanded that the suspect and the two others surrender. The suspect did not follow orders and was shot. Police have not confirmed whether or not the suspect had a gun or why he was shot. The two other individuals with the suspect (Jerrail Taylor and Adam Thayne) did comply with police.
Allegations have been made, however, that Taylor was a victim of mistaken identity and, perhaps, overly-aggressive policing. Reports say Dillon's brother and cousin claim they were on their way to visit his parents’ graves and that Dillon was surprised by the police presence. He was not aggressive, they said.
“He had headphones in, and he couldn't hear [anything], and then they finally surrounded him," Jerrail said. "They're like, 'Get on the ground,' and [he] pulled up his pants and [they] shot him."
Thayne believes police might have thought his cousin was reaching for a gun when, in reality, he grabbed his cell phone.
"I was in shock, because he was wearing a white t-shirt and there was blood all over it," Thayne said. "They ran up and handcuffed him. He wasn't moving."
A witness's video shows police yelling for the two men to remain on the ground as Thayne repeatedly screams that they have shot his cousin. The two men were taken to the police station, but released hours later without being charged or cited.
Police Chief Chris Burbank said the entire incident was captured on the body camera of the officer who shot Taylor.
“You will see on camera … the actions of everyone involved, including up to the point where our officer utilizes deadly force and his response thereafter,” Burbank told reporters.
He said the video, along with the officer’s identity, will be released at the “appropriate” time, adding it could be days, weeks or months.“It would be wholly inappropriate to take the most vital piece of evidence that we have and put it out to the public prior to the officer having some due process,” he said.
The national media, Attorney General Holder, and Barack Obama are silent. Where are the riots by the white community? Why isn't Salt Lake City on fire? Why isn't Al Sharpton crying that there is video of Dillon's death but no police report instantly for him to pass judgement on? Where were all the celebrities and politicians and activists and star lawyers and TV cameras? There weren't any. Because he was a white kid and you can't play the race card in this case.
Where are the White House representatives? Surely there will be emissaries from The Exhalted Obeezy? I mean, after all, right? Rappers and TV stars and movie makers and Congresscreatures? His family will surely get a call from the President? If Obeezy had a son he'd look like Dillon?
No? Why not? Oh....he was a white kid. That's right. Racism only works one way. And as for The Exalted One, well, hey, one must have priorities, right?
He called Michael Sam to congratulate him on being openly gay and drafted by an NFL team. Both he and Mo's twitter slaves tweeted out messages for him. Sam was cut from the Rams on Saturday afternoon, so I fully expect another phone call to console him. Priorities.
When Major General Harold Greene, the highest ranking soldier killed in a combat zone since Vietnam, was buried at Arlington last week the President played golf and Biden played with his navel lint. At least Secretary of Defense Hagel and Joint Chiefs Chairman Odierno attended. One must have priorities.
And that was more people than the White House sent to rescue four good men in Benghazi. Instead they were left to die. Didn't Hillary & Co. pretty much watch them die live on TV via drone coverage that was being fed to the White House, the Pentagon, the CIA, the State Department? Oh, well, what difference does it make, right Hillary? If memory serves, Obama was at a fundraiser hours after the attack, followed by parties with Beyonce and Jay-Z. Because one must have priorities, mustn't one?
We died. The White House lied. #Benghazi |
We've sent no one to Mexico to secure the release of Marine Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi, but we sent people to a funeral for a black kid in a Democrat district in a predominantly Democrat swing state, because one must have priorities. Oh, wait...we traded five Taliban commanders for one guy who walked away from his post willingly. Does that count? One must have priorities.

The White House sent no one to stem the tide of disease-ridden illegal alien children flooding in without parents, unless it was to welcome them with
We are on the verge of ISIS sending terrorists here to kill Americans on our soil. I hope instead of golfing or attending fund raisers or fomenting racial division that our leadership does something about it before it happens. Priorities. Seriously....priorities.
Yes....one MUST have their priorities.
