Yet another political rant

So…the Left is demanding that Mitt Romney release at the very least, 10 years worth of tax returns?  Hell, the IRS only asks you to hang on to them for a maximum of seven years. Most people toss them after three. And you want ten?

You speak as if you think Mitt has something to hide.

Obama’s records from Noelani Elementary Scool and Punahou Prep School? SEALED
Obama’s name change records from Barry Sotero to Barack Hussein Obama? SEALED
Marriage license between Barack Sr. and Stanley Ann Dunham? SEALED
Obama’s adoption records? SEALED
Obama’s baptism records? SEALED
Records on Dunham and Obama’s repatriation to US from Indonesia? SEALED
Obama’s Selective Service records? SEALED
Obama’s records from Occidental College? SEALED
Obama’s records from Columbia University? SEALED
Obama’s records from Harvard? SEALED
Obama’s thesis papers? SEALED
Obama’s files from his time as an Illinois state senator? SEALED
Obama’s record with the Illinois State Bar Association? SEALED
Obama’s law client list? SEALED
Obama’s medical records? SEALED

And WTF is up with Obama’s Social Security Number? The number is associated with a Connecticut address at the time he was allegedly in Hawaii. Read more here.

The Dear Leader, B. Hussein Himself (Blessed Be His Name), can’t run on his record (which is abysmal) or his accomplishments (of which there are few), so he attacks Romney at every turn.

So Mitt has money. Big whoop. Most people in politics do. It’s a rich man’s sport. We get that. He has some money offshore? Hell, with US banks folding left & right during the Obama Reign, I’d stash a nest egg somewhere safe if I was able to as well.

It’s okay to bash Romney and any other Republicans who have money, but rich Liberals get a free ride.

Let’s see the financial reports & tax returns from rich Leftists like:

John Kerry (D-MA), who hides his multi-million dollar yacht in Rhode Island to avoid Massachussetts taxes.Kerry & his wife are worth over $750 million.
The Kennedy Clan (D-MA) .We made our money by smuggling booze during Prohibition.
Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), worth as much as $108 million
Jay Rockafeller (D-WV). The name says it all. Worth as much as $136 million
Herb Kohl (D-WI) is worth as much as $231 million
Jared Polis (D-CO) is worth up to $285 million.
Mark Warner (D-VA) is worth up to $283 million
Jane Harman (D-CA) is worth up to $435 million.
Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is only worth about $35 million.
Al Gore is worth over $100 million.
Mike Bloomberg is worth $22 BILLION.
Jon Corzine is worth about $300 million.
The Clintons are worth over $100 million.
The Oprah, who earned $290 million in 2010,while Mitt is worth a total of $250 million over all. Oprah is worth over $2.7 billion with a B.
Warren Buffet…worth over $44 BILLION

Democrat Mouthpiece Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) ranted & foamed at the mouth about Romney having an account with Swiss bank UBS, while she herself had money is a 401(k) a couple years ago that had investments in a Swiss bank as well as the government of India. It’s called a GLOBAL economy, princess.

The Left is populated by Marxists, Socialists, elitist class-warfare snobs, and it’s time to end their reign of terror. They hate money unless it’s THEIR money. They hate success unless it’s either their success or was handed out by the government. They pick and choose what rights to follow from the Constitution while ignoring others, and then seemingly create new rights out of thin air as entitlements. They babble about the future of energy by promoting trains and windmills.

Hope & Change? More like Epic Fail.

Is Hollywood Out of Ideas?

I’ve come to the conclusion that, by and large, Hollywood has run out of new ideas.

Why do I say this?

I base this judgement on the incessant, constant, ridiculous re-hashing, re-booting, re-making, and re-telling going on over on The Left Coast.

You gotta admit, this problem has been around for awhile, though…. some themes just find themselves on constant repeat. Take, as an example, Romeo and Juliet: Boy meets Girl, Family doesn’t approve, Boy and Girl carry on secret romance, Tragedy ensues….It was filmed in 1936 and again in 1968, and once more in 1996 as some modernized MTV-fueled acid trip. The 1994 film The Punk uses both the rough plot outline of Romeo and Juliet and names many of the characters in ways that reflect the original. In 2006, Disney's nauseating High School Musical made use of Romeo and Juliet's plot, placing the two youngsters in rival high school cliques instead of feuding families. The immortal 1961 musical, West Side Story, is merely a re-telling of the classic, and in 1998’s Shakespeare in Love, The Bard writes the play against the backdrop of his own doomed love affair.

Hollywood has pretty much bashed the Star Trek franchise to death, after at least three spinoff series, a prequel film, and countless other series sequel films, like 9 or something. They bled the Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street,  and Friday the 13th franchises dry and then simply started to make them all over again. Soon they’ll probably do the same thing to the Saw films.

When in doubt, just make a crappy sequel if the original was a success. Explains all the Rambo films. And the Rocky films. Within a decade, I fully expect Hollywood to reboot both of them. For Rambo, or more rather, First Blood, it won’t be all that hard to translate a loner Vietnam veteran drifter with PTSD who gets dicked over by an a-hole cop into a loner, Iraq/Afghanistan vet with PTSD getting dicked over by The Man. For Rocky, well, everyone loves to see some steroid-infused brawler get his ass kicked and then fight his way back to glory, so the next one will be MMA/UFC instead of boxing….gotta keep it current y’know.

I seem to recall going to the theater to see the first two Batman films…no, wait…the first one came out in 89 so I was in Germany & missed it…I vaguely remember seeing it on video, but in ‘92 I did go see Batman Returns. It’s possible that my ex-wife dragged me to see Batman Forever in ‘95 because of her crush on Val Kilmer, but after that, I gave up. No Batman & Robin, no Batman Begins, no Batman: Dark Knight, and I sure as hell won’t bother with The Dark Knight Rises. I simply no longer care.

Maybe I’m just getting old. Maybe my inner child is dead. But at 43, I simply no longer give a rat’s ass about chasing down all the super-hero remakes & reboots. I hear tell they already want to reboot the Fantastic Four films. Iron Man 3 is on the way. There has to be yet another X-Men flick coming. Sources tell me they are remaking Superman. After 3 Spider Man films, of which I think I saw the first one, there is now a huge spectacle of a reboot, The Amazing Spider Man, with a sequel already in the works. Throw several superheroes together in a special effects cavalcade and you get The Avengers. And the upcoming sequel,  Avengers 2.  It can compete with the Justice League film and the Wonder Woman film.

What else is Hollywood remaking?

Where to even begin?

Back in 1990, Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the sci-fi film Total Recall. Now he’s been replaced by Colin Farrell in the same role. Back in 1987 we got RoboCop and a couple bad sequels. Next year we get the remake. Back in 1979 no one really knew who Mel Gibson was was he starred in Mad Max. Next year we get the series rebooted, with the role now being played by the guy playing the villain in the latest Batman film.

I’ve heard rumors of remakes coming that just make me shake my head. Kinda like the recent reboot of 21 Jump Street. Was that really necessary? Was that remake of The Dukes of Hazzard really thought out all the way through?

Sadly, I was informed that Arnold is doing his own sequel, this time to the abysmally bad movie he did in 1988 with Danny Devito….yes, Twins is getting a third member in Eddie Murphy in the upcoming Triplets. Why? At least there’s no sequel planned for Junior yet. Yet

There’s a rumor of a remake of Scarface. Why? If violence-addicted kids needed a fix all they had to do was rent themselves a copy of The Devil’s Double, the story of Uday Hussein’s body double, a film called by many Scarface of Arabia.

There’s a remake of An American Werewolf in London in development, as is a redo of The Crow. It was hard enough watching the original with Brandon Lee dead during filming and them having to work around that to wrap the film up, and the sequels were unwatchable. Sometime in 2014 we get yet another version of Godzilla, hopefully this time without the beast being chased by Ferris Bueller and without Pee Diddy butchering a Led Zeppelin song in the background.

There’s yet another Die Hard film coming, set in Russia. Why? A new version of Carrie…because we really needed that. A sixth Fast & Furious…and of course, in time for Memorial Day will be Hangover 3. Aftre that, they will have pretty much beaten that horse to death.

As a teen I loved Red Dawn, where a group of high school kids fight off the invading Russian and Cuban communist hordes. This Thanksgiving, the iPhone generation will defend us all against, get this, the frikkin’ North Koreans. I have a hard time believing the North Koreans, who apart from a lucky few, barely have electricity or more than a rice ball & fish heads to eat, invaded the US of A.

A cult classic is getting dumbed-down for the masses, it seems. Back in 1984 a spoof of horror flicks done very tongue in chek and very much R-rated became an underground sensation and started an entire genre of satirical films set in mythical Tromaville. Yes, kids…Toxic Avenger is getting remade into a PG-13, by the director that brought you Hot Tub Time Machine. I’m sorry.

And lastly, because no one has the balls to tell him no, Ashton Kutcher is going ahead with his dream to remake Smokey and the Bandit (As if Adam Sandler’s remake of The Longest Yard wasn’t enough). I’m really confused with this one. Back in 1977 you could only get Coors beer in certain western states, hence the run to Texas & back to Georgia with the load of illegal beer. What the hell are they going to haul this time? Illegal Mexicans? No more jabbering on the CB radio to rustle up a convoy of truckers to run blockade for you, since everyone uses cell phones and truckers no longer roll in giant convoys.

At least Ashton already has a ready supply of trucker hats.

Firing Back: A Conversation With a Liberal

Admittedly, I don’t get a whole lot of comments on my blog posts. I have no idea why. I spend a lot of time & effort into crafting my scribbles and it can be seriously disheartening to get zero feedback. Such is life; I know people are busy and I’m a small-time little fish in a rather huge pond of pundits & opinion-givers.
I did, however, get a comment back on June 20th that was a bit of a surprise as the article being commented upon was posted over a month previously, the article about the Obama administration’s use of distractions and smoke & mirrors during the election cycle. As a refresher, see here. The comment riled me & irked me, and I let it sit in my inbox for 3 weeks before I finally decided to post it, since after all I am not a censor and I believe in freedom of speech, no matter how idiotic & misguided it may be. This comment has now earned its own blog post.

The comment is here, in it’s entirety:
Hey buddy. I like the action figure picture of Obama but I was confused by the caption. It was posted a while ago so i'll remind you: "PRESIDENT BARAK OBAMA; I KILLED OSAMA BIN LADIN! Oh, and the Navy SEALs helped a little too."

Are you trying to imply that during the first seven years of the occupation of Afghanistan, the seals weren't doing their jobs? Because I don't think that the seals have changed how they do what they do. The change was at the top and you know it.

God bless the troops, and all of that. But they really can't do anything without good leadership, can they? Here we have a president that has led them to victory from the brink of utter defeat.

The war on terror under Bush: massacre, nuclear bullets, endless fallout, trillions in debt to the chinese. The war on terror under Obama: osama is dead, iraq is nearly stable and saddam is dead, gaddafi is dead, mubarak just died, assad is probably going down this summer.

You can play any kind of mental games you want to convince yourself otherwise but these are the facts.

Where to even begin?

Where exactly have you been for the past year while Barry Sotero, playing the role of Barack Hussein Obama, has been saying “I got Bin Laden.”?  Even the Quiet Professionals of the military’s Special Operations community, began to take umbrage with the constant blathering of the White House about how Obama got Bin Laden, with the connotation being that Barry Himself fast-roped from a stealth helo with a knife in his teeth and dispatched Public Enemy Number One with his bare hands and then went for a round of golf.

I don’t exactly recall a constant barrage of “I Got Saddam” coming from the Bush White House. After that first ill-advised “Mission Accomplished” gaffe, the administration was quite content to put the praise on the warfighters who did the deeds & the dity work and got the required results.

Yes, troops need good leadership, and about the smartest thing Barry has done has been to stand the hell aside and let real soldiers do their jobs. That leadership isn’t coming from the Oval Office, not from a guy whose only real job prior to being the White House Golf Pro was to be a vote-fixer community agitator in Chicago. He’s at least been smart enough to let the generals run the show and continue the Bush Administration’s efforts and policies concerning combat. Barry thought he was gonna bring everyone home in 6 months and when he stepped in and got his briefings he knew there was no way he could keep that promise. Same with Gitmo. Close it in 30 days, huh? It’s still open 4 years later.

Utter defeat?  When, pray tell, have American troops been on the brink of defeat at the hands of rag-wrapped rabble with roadside bombs?

Have we had casualties? Yes. There are casualties in all wars. Were we defeated when we lost a large group of troops when a helicopter went down? No. It hurt, and it sucked, but we continued the mission. In April and May 1944, the Allied air forces lost nearly 12,000 men and over 2,000 aircraft in operations which paved the way for D-Day. America lost 2500 killed on D-Day itself but we were not defeated. Obama hasn’t led anyone to victory; he just declared “We won” and planned troops withdrawls to coincide with the elections.

Please, tell me what fucking drugs you are on? What’s this drivel about nuclear bullets and endless fallout? We don’t have nuclear bullets. Are you referring to depleted uranium rounds?

Tell you what, sunshine, depleted uranium armor-piercing rounds are in use by between 17 and 20 countries, including Russia & China, who sell their goods to every terrorist organization known to man, and are manufactured by 18 countries. You want radiation & fallout, try Fukishima….or Chernobyl…..or all the toxic sites in China.

Trillions in debt to the Chinese? Yeah, GW Bush spent too much, I’ll grant you that. The Debt rose $4.899 trillion during the two terms of the Bush presidency. It has now gone up $4.939 trillion since President Obama took office. That’s more than 100% growth in HALF THE TIME. Or, roughly, TWICE THE EXPENDITURE. The National Debt also now exceeds 100% of the nation's Gross Domestic Product, the total value of goods and services.

And again, you yourself just gave credit to Obama for killing Bin Laden. You also just gave credit to Obama for killing Saddam. Iraq is nearly stable? Then why do I keep hearing about 30 to 60 people at a whack being blown up by car bombs every few days in Iraq? What did Obama have to do with the death of Khadaffi? He sat back and did damn near next to nothing while leaving the people trying to overthrow Khadaffi twisting in the wind, and you just gave Obama credit for killing Khadaffi. You also imply that Obama toppled Mubarak in Egypt…..and we can all see how well that goat-rope is turning out with the Muslim Brotherhood taking over the government. And I guess you’ll take credit for Obama toppling Assad in Syria too, right?

You try to quote & cite facts…instead you quoted bullshit liberal talking points.

Nice try. Now go away.

Oh, wait, before that hard doorknob crushes your tender ass…..

I need to once again revisit a famous Obama picture that Libs love to post on Facebook…the Donuts picture….where they give credit to Obama for killing Bin Laden and Khadaffi (look, I hate the “G” spelling of his name, so let it go, people), prevented a depression, and didn't screw up a hurricane, etc....

Look....we already covered the Osama & Khadaffi shit....the economy is in SHREDS. Look at the effing economy, stupid, and tell me he's improved it. This, by the way, is the economy he inherited from a DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED Congress, the same Congress that was in power through the majority of Bush's Presidency. Remember, kids, Congress controls the purse strings.......and as far as this hurricane shit goes....

The Democrat Governor of Louisiana (Kathleen Blanco) and the Democrat Mayor of New Orleans (Ray Nagin) screwed up Katrina. Bush sent in FEMA afterwards, like he was supposed to do, and FEMA had to pick up the pieces the idiots in charge left behind. FEMA is a small, low-staffed group that MANAGES the emergency afterwards...
And really, let's take a longer look at Katrina, shall we? FEMA, who I did criticize afterwards for their bad handling of the relief trailers, is a MANAGEMENT agency. Y'know, the best way to explain this is to directly quote author John Ringo from his most excellent book The Last Centurion:
There were not tens of thousands of dead. There were no riots or rapes in the Superdome and people were neither starving nor "out of water." They were being rationed, which the fuckers that were complaining thought was starving, but that's not the same thing. But let's look at the Evacuation Plan.
Okay, Nagin was a total fuck-up and never even tried to initiate it. He'd never looked at it, despite a fucking hurricane being headed for his city which, by the way, was below sea level. So calling him a fuck-up is insulting fuck-ups. But there was a Plan.

The Plan was to use school and city buses to evacuate all those who were "transportation challenged." Whether Nagin used it or not was sort of a moot point, though. People had forgotten little details. Such as, there was no emergency call list for the drivers.

In any group that does emergency response, from the military to cops and even including child services, there is a call list. Generally it's a call tree. Person at the top gets a call. He or she calls three people, then starts getting ready to head in. Those people call two or three people lower than them and start getting ready. Assuming more or less equal transportation distances, the bosses get to work first, which helps in most cases.

There was no such phone tree for bus drivers. So there was no real way for anyone to get ahold of them in an emergency. Oops.

Drivers had never been told that they were supposed to drive people out in an emergency. So they weren't exactly sitting by the phone if there had been a phone tree. They had jobs and cars. They were packing to leave or already gone.

And that was the last point. The order to get out was sent out before any thought was given at all to the "transportation challenged" plan and even the evacuation order was more of a bow to reality; the roads out of New Orleans were packed (by among other things the bus drivers) when it was given….

Look, in a local major disaster like that, FEMA wasn't even supposed to be up and running for seventy-two hours. Three days. That was after they were requested by local authorities. But on day two, hell with the skies barely clearing, people were asking "Where is FEMA?"

FEMA doesn't actually have all that many full-time employees. Disasters, by their very definition, don't occur all the fucking time. So most of its response specialists are contractors who do other things, or are retired and hang out, waiting for the next response.
They had to be called in. People had to go in and find areas to set up. It take stime. Even then, they don't do most of the work. They coordinate the work. More contractors, and military, and local government do the actual work. Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Asking "where is FEMA" in a disaster is like asking "Why aren't the managers here?"
The managers are important, don't get me wrong. But they don't get the bodies cleared.

Well, that pretty much sums that one up, without even mentioning the Democrat Congressman "rescued" by the National Guard who went to his house to fetch almost 100 grand in cash from his freezer...

The hurricane Obama "saved" us all from was Irene, and what he did was to continue playing golf on vacation until the storm cut it short...since he stayed on vacation during the previous week's EARTHQUAKE on the east coast. And where the hell was he last week, when a huge storm front labeled by some as a "land hurricane", devastated the mid-Atlantic coast, killing dozens and left millions without power in 100-degree heat for DAYS? Off playing golf again.

Spare me your bullshit. Facts are facts, after all, aren't they?

Oh, it's the Fourth of July?

Well, here we are at the July 4th holiday.

Sadly, I’m just not feeling it this year.

When I was a kid, the Fourth was a big deal. My mom’s family really embraced it, a family of immigrants from Canada living in the suburbs around the nation’s capital. We got together as a family, we cooked out, we waved flags, and we either climbed on the roof to watch fireworks or went to one of the local displays. We celebrated the freedom of being in America, of the opportunities afforded our family when they moved down from Toronto 9 years before I was born.

Nowadays, though, things are different.

I’m still a proud American, a veteran of the United States Army, but the Fourth just doesn’t feel the same to me.

This year, I feel the proud nation I grew up in is teetering on the brink of collapse. What happened to the country I grew up in, the country I defended, the country that two of my uncles fought for during the Vietnam era in the Army without being American citizens, the country that sheltered and took in my Polish ancestors on my father’s side in 1913, with my grandfather (the last-born child) being the first of the family born in America and who served her during WW2, the country my stepfather served for 24 years as an officer in the US Navy? Where did it go?

Our country is so far in debt to communist China that our unborn grandkids owe money. Our economy is shredded.

Our so-called President, rather than uphold the Constitution and defend our borders, instead panders to a Latino minority by circumventing the law and granting blanket amnesty to a huge multitude of illegal immigrants.

The Injustice Department sold guns to Mexican drug cartels and caused untold numbers of deaths, including the death of US Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, and then lied about it. When the US House of Representatives found Attorney General Eric Holder in Contempt of Congress, I was absolutely DISGUSTED that the Congressional Black Caucus played the race card and said they would walk out in protest over whitey daring to say boo to a black man, because if you dare to disagree with the Obama Dictatorship you’re a racist. Holder scurried under his master’s skirts and won’t be prosecuted because the Dear Leader has claimed Executive Privilege.

The Supreme Court of the United States, an august body that I once admired, is populated by progressive liberals who upheld Obamacare as not only constitutional but as a justifiable tax, setting the precedent that yes, Congress can force you to buy whatever it deems you must have, a move that will bankrupt the health insurance industry and small businesses trying to get by.  The bulk of the costs of Obamacare, 75%, falls on those making less than $120,000 a year.

The court then further dishonored itself by striking down the main crux of The Stolen Valor Act that sought to punish those who falsely wear medals they didn’t earn and claim to have military records far & above what they attained, if they attained any whatsoever at all. According to the Court, it’s okay to lie about your service because it’s Freedom of Speech, protected by the First Amendment, just like burning the US flag or taking a dump on the Constitution.

The government can now force religions to go against their tenets and make them pay for contraceptives they don’t believe in. And, thanks to special loopholes in Obamacare , we now live in a country that taxes citizens differently depending on their religion. How? Mainstream Protestants, Catholics, Jews, and even non-religious Atheists will now be taxed at a higher rate than Muslims, the Amish, Scientologists, or Christian Scientists. This is because the "tax" (i.e.: penalty) for not buying health insurance does not apply to:
*Muslims
*Amish
*Scientologists
*Christian Scientists

No such exemption exists for those of other religions.

I don’t recall in the past being inundated with ads for July 4th sales the way that I have this year. However, like other patriotic holidays like Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day, the true meaning is lost as desperate companies scrambling to stay afloat beg you to come spend your holiday not with family and not in quiet reflection giving thanks for this great nation and those who serve her, but spend it instead buying a new bed, couch, or a car from Government Motors.

Fireworks? In Depoe Bay, Oregon, the town buckled under FEDERAL pressure to cancel their fireworks because the noise might disturb wildlife. The Feds cancelled the Fourth.

The Injustice Department strikes down the law in states like South Carolina that requires you to have a photo ID to vote, claiming that it disenfranchises minorities, but those same people need an ID to drive, cash a check, buy a beer, or get on a plane…this corrupt government wants every citizen to prove they have health insurance without having to prove they are even a citizen to vote.

We live in a Welfare State that rewards the Leech Class while killing the Free Market, Capitalism, Private Industry, and hard-working Americans like me. A record of 8,733,461 workers took federal disability insurance payments in June 2012, according to the Social Security Administration. That was up from 8,707,185 in May. That, friends, exceeds the entire population of New York City which according to the Census Bureau's latest estimate hit 8,244,910 in July 2011.

Enjoy your food stamps, welfare checks, free cell phones, Medicaid, and Section 8 houses tomorrow on the Fourth, Leech Class…and make sure you have a big cookout on my dime, and with the money you didn’t have to spend on the food, enjoy your iPhone and lottery tickets and make sure you stock up on beers and blunts to fill with weed. Nothing says Happy Birthday, America like Mexican pot and free food.

Meanwhile, both my wife and I will be working yet another holiday. I think we have had one July 4th together in the past 7 years.

With the Declaration of Independence adopted on July 4th, 1776, our Founding Fathers faced a rebellion against a corrupt and tyrannical government that was out of touch with Americans. Take some time this July Fourth to contemplate your freedom and this great nation, remember those who have fought and bled and died to preserve it and defended the Constitution against enemies both foreign AND domestic, and commit yourself to rebuilding America, and steel yourself for the upcoming elections.

It’s time for Americans to TAKE BACK AMERICA.
